We're back at Starmall Alabang! I would now feature the remaining ukay shops in that mall, starting with another RTW Surplus Center. This outlet is their third in the mall. Its also smaller compared to their other shops and that means less choices. They only sell clothes and most of their stuff are for women. Very few choices for men. Nothing much to say really because selection isn't that great either.

Iyaman Fashion House is one of the more popular ukay ukay chains in manila. As I have featured earlier, they have shops in Sunshine Mall at Taguig and also at Starmall Alabang. They have more branches around the metro, and I would feature them eventually.

This branch is located at Las Pinas, along Alabang Zapote road. Probably one of their biggest branch. The space is huge and that means alot of choices. You'll probably spend so much time looking at all their stuff from clothes to shoes and bags. Its a good thing that the place is not cramped and also airconditioned.

HOW TO GET THERE:
From South Luzon Expressway take the Alabang Exit
Go to Alabang Zapote Road
You'll see it on your right infront of Starmall Las Pinas

If you're coming from Cavite it's on your left.

This summer, a Baguio trip is in order, not only because the city is the country’s summer capital, but also because it is turning 100 years old this year.
And, if I may add, Baguio City has also become a fashion capital, thanks to the popularity of ukay shopping, which originated here.

The four key places to visit are Bayanihan, Diego Silang Building, Skyworld, and Harrison. Here’s an A-Z of what you need to remember:

A—Arrive early. Most shops open as early as 9 a.m. Early shoppers get the best choices and even good discounts. Call it buena mano.

B—Burnham Park. The best starting point for ukay expeditions. Old buildings that have found a

second lease on life as ukay sites surround the park named after Daniel Burnham, the same planner that designed Manila and Chicago, USA.

C—Check the merchandise. A good buy is something that will make you go the extra mile.

Always check the stitching, leather and brassware quality. For shoes, the soles should not be in sad state, and should still be salvageable by your friendly shoe repairman.
